Who AM I?
I was born in what could well argued to be the exact center
of the United States: Iowa City, Iowa. This could explain a lot about me.
Much like the place where I was born, I too am pretty much in the middle.
I am average in size and temperament and I am average in my general outlook
on life. Ho-hum.
When I was young my parents moved out to Washington. At age 2 my sister was
born. In fact, I still remember when my mom was pregnant. My sister grew up
to be the "responsible" one in the family. She graduated, got her
masters, bought a house and had two beautiful kids.
My Dad is a college professor of ancient history at Eastern Washington University.
My mom teaches too and both my father's and my mother's love for teaching
has rubbed off on me.
Why am I in Korea? Do my parents miss me? Well, I suspect my parents are part
of the reason I am in Korea. My mother always taught me about the joy of meeting
new people and exploring new places. When I was young those "new places"
were the nearby parks but by the time I was 25 those "new places"
ended up to be Korea- quite a long way from the trips around the neighborhood
my mother used to take me on.
